Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

NASA can explain the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse much better than I can – but I took the photos to show the Moon changing! (Location: near Calgary, Alberta, Canada.)

The Car Guy had been talking about this event for days, so he was quite disappointed when the clouds covered the beginning of the eclipse on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Fortunately, the clouds parted shortly after 9 PM!

  1. Wow!! A stunning sequence, Margie– beautiful!! Amazing clarity, especially in that last shot. Where were you– up in a flyin’ saucer?? Pretty easy to see why the moon has inspired so many songs. In fact, I feel one coming on now:

    “Blood moon– I saw you standing alone– Was that a blush on your face? It had that coppery tone… ”

    Oh, well– it was a big hit down at the Vampire Club… : )

    • You always make me laugh, Mark!
      Your poem reminded me (for some unknown reason) of the Edward Lear poem, ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’:
      “…Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
      Your ring?” Said the Piggy, “I will.”
      So they took it away, and were married next day
      By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
      They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
      Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
      And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
      They danced by the light of the moon…”
