Playing with Snow
Not enough snow to play IN! Just enough snow to play WITH! Photo filters are courtesy the program Topaz Studio.

My back yard. Most of the trees are just beginning to put on their coat of fall colours.

I like the effect of this filter, even though it erases most of the snowflakes.

Really big snowflakes! They sure stood out against the spruce forest in the font yard.

This impasto filter turns the photo into a painting.
Any interesting weather in your part of the world today? When was the last time you had a snowball fight or built a snowman?
The next time is a whole lot closer than the last time!

As it turns out, the next time is a lot closer for me too! More snow last night. More snow forecast for early next week!

Noooooo! Not ready for snow. We were in Texas last December, when it snowed there. Strange weather.

Sure seems strange, doesn’t it – but when I dig through the archives of historical weather, it rarely seems to be a one-off. It usually has happened before!

I think it been 100 years for Texas, but yes, you are right.

Is AZ calling?

Yes, I’m having AZ thoughts more and more often – but Canadians can only spend a certain number of days in the US, so we are saving those for deep winter! This weather is merely slightly chilly – so far!

The final picture really captures the feeling of a snowstorm, I think … well, I’ve just put on an extra jumper and I’m indoors!

I’m indoors too – under a blanket!
Of course, our central heating can make our house pretty warm and toasty in a matter of minutes! When we lived in the UK, we were looking at hours to days to warm the house during a cold snap!

Ah yes, remember as a kid we used to have fights over who could stand by the fireside …
